Character Number 1: Lyrax

Lyrax began as a complete cipher. He entered life a poor celtic waif, living in one of the relatively urban areas of Angharad. He learned no trade, save that of a beggar and then an entertainer. He also became a 'minstrel of the sword and purse,' and in general, an all-round opportunist. He really got his start with the formation of a group of bandits in southwestern Stahl, though.

The bandits formed with the purpose of destroying their local knight. He wasn't a terrible man, but two of the bandits loved his daughter and his maid (well, one loved each), and we fomented a rebellion among the peasantry, and led them right into a celebration that the knight was having. He died, and we made off with fair amount of money.

That's when Lyrax sought employment. He went to Gelure, and was soon gainfully employed in the risky, yet honored profession of a spy and an assassin. He was not, however, respected nearly so well as those who used magic, and over time, he was asked to do some things that were... unconscionable.

When Lyrax's face was temporarily altered with magic to look like that of a noble, he knew had to leave. He faked his own death and escaped to Stahl, now with enemies behind him and far fewer in front.

Lyrax continued more or less alone from that point, and he wandered through Stahl for several months until he came across an artifact that he simply had to have. It appeared to be a crossless dagger, made entirely of crystal, and was of no small worth. After obtaining it from the Stahlnish duke who had it in his possession, however, Lyrax discovered that this crystal was merely a fragment of some greater whole.

It was a shard of heaven. One of Xanar's shards from the beginning of civilization. A very singular, powerful sort of artifact. And Lyrax just used it for a spare knife half the time until he found that out. Naturally, he had no idea what it could do or how to use it.

Of course, after this, Lyrax had to find someone who would give him something in return for this shard without killing him for knowing of its existence. And quickly. He found someone in Eastern Stahl named Natheir, a weapons dealer of no small importance. A weapons dealer who knows of magic.

After that, Lyrax was very hard to track. He took up a noble's identity in the Xanarian Empire, and began a short career as an underground enforcer of sorts. Then he served a Savaxen king as a bodyguard, and was seen collecting metal keys before he finally disappeared from all of Weyrth.

I don't know where he is now.
