Hey guys,

does anyone have a copy of the battlesim / was the source code ever posted? I am thinking about porting a TROS combat interface to one of the following:

a) Google Wave (as a Gadget) - this would be my favorite platform

b) Fantasy Grounds - not sure if it's doable, but last I checked, FG was pretty mod-able

c) Klooge - my quick research showed me that dice pool throws alone are already problematic, but usually these kind of things are attempted by people who don't know how to code, hence alot of things seem "impossible" which in truth are not.

As posted in the Google Wave Thread, I would love to have access to the source code of either the original Combat Sim by Brian Leybourne (probably not gonna happen) or the more recent Battlesim by Yeshom (or even any other attempt made). I want to see how much is actually portable, especially damage/weapon/etc. tables would help to speed things up (if they were in an appropiate format like xml or whatever), so I could work with what's already there.

Anyways,
cheers!

Sandor

I have Brian's email so I will ask.

Hey Ian,

Thanks, that would be really nice :)
Googling for the Source Code lead to an old Forge thread where Brian actually says that his laptop (which at that time contained the entire source code) had been stolen. So I don't know whether he rewrote the thing afterwards are not..

Either way, thanks a bunch,

Cheers!

You could also PM Yeshom. Here's his combat sim thread: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=83

Hey higgins,

I did PM him (or use the email button, rather), but no answer as of yet.

Cheers,
Sandor

Brian is looking for the code. No promises, but the fact he didn't say it was stolen is a good sign.

Hey Ian,

that's good news, thank you and also big thanks to Brian!
I have Yeshom's BattleSim code too now and am working through it, but the original combat sim would still be interesting - I think it has more of the Damage Table text in there.

Cheers!
