Just a quick one about the bbcodes I've added to this forum.

The first one implemented was DICE and now we have a bunch of others. So I thought I'd create this post which will give a quick explanation of how they are used. If I implement more of them then I'll add the details here.

Regards,

The first bbcode implemented was DICE. It lets you simulate rolling dice:

Code:
[dice]fscwdtufiy[/dice]

results in

[dice]cpxnwslzgt[/dice]

Unfortunately DICE totals multiple dice rather than showing individual rolls. I am hoping that will be changed in the near future.

Regards,

We have a wide variety of bbcodes that allow you to format the text in a post. Text can be justified or centered through ALIGN, it can be placed into two columns via COL, and it can be bordered with LEGEND. We also have two ways of including images, resizing them, and handling the text associated with the pictures. We also have a new URL link button that is accessed by using the CLICK bbcode. RAINBOW makes your text pretty and SPOILER let you "hide" some text from the casual viewer -- to see the text you need to actively press a button.

To illustrate these bbcodes:

ALIGN=RIGHT will right align your text.

ALIGN=CENTER will center align your text.

ALIGN=LEFT will left align your text.

With CAPTION you can add tiny text below an image

and have normal size text beside the image. This is particularly useful when including portraits of characters in a post. You can also resize the image.

Using text as a link to a URL is standard bbcode but with CLICK you can have a button that links to your URL. Trosfans home page:

Legend!Lets you create a breakout box in your thread. This is great for rule excepts, for instance.

With PICTURETHIS you have normal size text beside the image. You can also resize the image.

RAINBOW is there to make text pretty. Sometime you need pretty text:

SPOILER lets you hide text from casual view. If the reader wants to view it they have to select the Show button. It lets you tuck away extra detail that not everybody may be interested in reading.
