Just in case anyone has missed the Trailer for Avatar II

Seriously, did he not think that people would realize that there were a set of Sci-Fi novels set on a jungle world called Pandora inhabited by the Nav'e people -- just because they were written in Russian?

Do you mean this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkDQttVdSks

I googled and found a Chinese 1 billion yuan lawsuit about the script, but not a Russian one.

Unfortunately that one hasn't got the first half of the Hungry Beast article, wherein they do an analysis of the plagiarism that is purportedly rife throughout Avatar. Instead it just has the second-half, the spoof of the Avatar II trailer.

I don't know of any lawsuit. It just seems crazy to me that in the Internet Age anyone would think they could rip whole plot elements from a book in another language and think that nobody would notice.

It really cuts through the Cameron spin of "I've wanted to make this film for 20 years but I had to wait until the technology caught up -- in fact, I had to create the technology." There was no story, there was no script, 20 years ago.

"post narrativism" is actually much older than what one may think.

The aestetics of literary realism, and afterward, naturalism was essentially that : to paint the real world as is. In these works, it could be argued that the plot was an excuse and not the most important thing, for them, it was being realistic that mattered.
