Could you let me know if you see any error messages or if you see any threads/posts disappearing or re-appearing.

Well, everything from 2012 did vanish for me yesterday soon after my last post in this thread and only reappeared in the last few hours; checking about five hours ago did not show any posts or threads from 2012.

There is however no error message. When I visit and the stuff from 2012 in't here, I just see the site in exactly the stae it was before the first post in 2011: Old background, old (and thus obsolete) indicators of most recent posts, etc. And when I try to post or PM with the forum in this state, there's the error message that Crow Caller has given above.

But just now everything's fine.

When you saw this you were actually on the old site. 8 ^ )

I worked that out at about 4:30 this morning while getting hammered by PJ as to how flakey the new server was.

I have since deleted the old account and -- once again -- if you see anything odd please let me know.

Regards,

Hi,

The new template has been fixed so that all the little icons are now appearing -- or at least most of them. So you can see the latest post again.

Also, remember you can always switch back to DarkFantasy if you prefer the old style, or prosilver if you use a mobile phone to access the site. Just go to the UCP (top of the page).

One final thing -- Dark Fantasy is a dar text on light background where Swirly_Orange is light text on a dark background. If you use color in your posts, remember people might be viewing it against a different background...

Regards,

The new transparent background makes reading text a bit too heavy. I wouldn't want to start copy-pasting long posts in a word processor just to read them without struggling.

Am I alone with my opinion?

No, I agree with you chade it is quite straining to read, though I really do like the background. If the transparency was at 90% or so it would be perfect I think.

Other than that, I have not had any problems with the site and it looks great!

Yes, I too like the picture and would be curious to see how it looked if transparency was reduced. But no need to make this a big deal, I can always adblock the image if it bothers me too much.

You can always change which Style you are using in the User Control Panel (UCP). DarkFantasy is the previous Style, prosilver is the one that comes with the forum and is good for mobile phones.

I have updated the trosfans Style:

1) Increased opacity on the text background.
2) Identified the last of the imageset problems -- all icons now display correctly.
3) Modified the background to be more bandwidth friendly (even though it is only downloaded once and then cached).

Regards,

Ah, I went straight to display settings and therefore managed to miss this style setting. Thanks Ian!
