The art piece is indicative of the artwork quality in the book. Okay Michael, Ima headin' ;) back to work!

Yes, but the rest of it is the same as TRoS, right...?

Awesome guys -- looking forward to its release.

By the way -- for those of us intending to invest in a hard-cover volume is there any way to get it signed by the authors? Happy to pay for the necessary extra postage...

Regards,

Hi Ian,

Yep, you nailed it! Every element of TroS was overhauled for Blade. We are very excited!

I think that a few signed hard-copies can be worked out somehow between Vienna Austria and Cary NC.

Regards,

Phil

Hi Mattia!

Oh, you tempt me to tell all, you truly do!!! But...the rest of the development team would never forgive me! I think I can safely say that every aspect of TroS, (from the Priority Table, Skills, Maneuvers, Combat Rules, character creation, Magic, Wound Tables, Weapons, you name it) has been re-imagined for Blade.

Regards,

Phil

Re-imagined? It sounds good. If the rule improvement is in line with your artwork example, we're going to see a masterpiece.

Good luck! :)

If it is something that can be considered I'd also be very keen to get a signed copy; hopefully I'm not being too presumptuous making this request.

I can't see how this could be regarded as presumptuous. In any case, any such decision is still a few months down the line, and interested parties should be able to peruse the free pdf before deciding on shelling out any money for having a book sent literally around the world - and that in several stages.

Though Phil and I do of course hope that you will like our offering sufficiently to consider doing so. :)

The picture you posted in the previous page reminds me very much of the art/wallpapers I saw in the videogame "Mount & Blade". Is it just a coincidence or the author is the same?
Anyway, I'm eagerly waiting for the release of Blade: a Sword and Sorcery version of TROS looks like a dream come true. Keep up the good work! :)

Hi Leonardo!

Yep, the image is from one of the Mount and Blade Wallpapers! This generally reflects the quality of the artwork we have included in Blade. It's nice to meet a fellow Sword & Sorcery lover! We hope you will enjoy the book!

Regards,

Phil

Hi Folks,

Just a small update!

Chapters 1-6 are now complete, with chapter seven (our final chapter!) soon to be finished as well. Wrapping up the appendices is not so fun, but of course must be done. We are certainly on track for September 1st, so all is well!

Regards,

Phil

If your right about all this art being of the same quality as the pictures you have shown, then Blade of the Iron throne will have the best art in it of any Rpg book! LOVE the art! I'm looking forward to reading the book! first time I've been excited for September!

You mention the art being the best, but all the art I have seen is from Mount and Blade. Any examples of original art? Looking forward to seeing the game!

My preference is for no teasers on the artwork. We know the style of the artwork is similar to tht seen on M&B -- and that's enough, I think. Let the artwork be part of the surprise of the actual release!

Hi Folks!

Whoa! Just to head off any disappointment or confusion, I want to tell you that the artwork for this clubhouse project is culled off the internet, and is the best Sword & Sorcery artwork we could find to support our theme. So yes, you get a good-looking product, but no original art. Later on, if the membership likes the book enough, there may be some commissioned pieces added.

Regards,

Phil

Hi,
We have put our game on hold for a bit awaiting this release.
One area of the original rules I found disappointing was the relationship between wounds and the ordinary skill system. As it reads it appears almost impossible to do any thing once wounded. This may be realistic but frustrating to play.
We house ruled up some thing but its an area that should have been covered.

I would also request lots of NPC's with there combat info, like possible maneuvers etc. This was very time consuming for me as a time poor GM to make up any meanfull stats for NPC's and found myself winging it a lot and not giving the players a decent experience with maneuvers coming back at them. My vision may be off as I have just come from Harn were there is a amazing collection of NPC stated up.
